Hi there..
My name is Mr. R and I live in Ontario with my wife Mrs. M and two beautiful daughters – M & M (wow.. this sounds made-up!). We immigrated to Canada in 2013 from India and chose to settle down in life after living & working in 5 different countries across the globe, not to mention numerous Hotels, Apartments & Shared Accommodation in various Cities (I promise to share some exciting Stories & Experiences!)
Both Me & My Wife were college classmates during out Masters program in Computer Applications (again may write on this one day). While I work full-time at a Financial Institution, my wife works as a Freelancer for a US based QA outsourcing website. We are quite fortunate with our cash flow, her part-time work brings in enough Moolah for us to live a Comfortable Life, Save for our future, Share with others as needed, but above all.. gives us enough flexibility with raising our Daughters.
True to the address of this site settlingnomad.com – we are settling nomads indeed and it is a work-in-progress. While settling down is quite a subjective term and mean differently to people, we kept it simple (or so we think..) – “Living a Happy & Healthy Life“, within our means and Save/Generate wealth for better future. While it may sound quite straightforward, it is a relentless pursuit and requires Discipline, Sound Decisioning and most importantly Patience. We put together a Passive Income Goal to attain Financial Freedom and I intend to track it through monthly updates here.
I have been wanting to Blog for quite some time now and this Covid19 Pandemic (talk about making the most out of a crisis!) finally gave an opportunity to spare some time and bring this site to life. I am inspired by umpteen Bloggers out there who have awed me repeatedly with their fabulous writing and more so by their disciplined approach and updates via Blogs, on variety of subjects including Finance, Saving, Better Living etc. With my limited vocabulary and subject knowledge, I can’t even in my remotest dream, dream to match them on content or writing, I do hope to remain focused on our own journey and write about our milestones.
I do understand opening up to public especially on one’s financial situation is a taboo and hence I would try to maintain a discreet balance between information and too-much-information. After all, my intention is to broadly discuss Financial Freedom and Approach; Numbers are subjective.
